Looking for Healthy Pantry Staple Recipes to make use of what you have on hand? These are my favorite, easy, mainly pantry staple breakfasts, soups, bean and grain based meals, dinners and desserts that are healthy and delicious, too! After publishing my Healthy Pantry Items and Shelf Stable Fruits, Veggies, and Protein post, I promised to follow up with my favorite Pantry Staple Recipes. One thing we can all do now if to look at the food we have in the pantry and/or freezer and try to use what we have on hand!
A good place to start is to print my Healthy Pantry Items List and go through your supply at home and see what you have! Then, go through these meals and see what recipes use the items you have on hand. For each recipe, I have listed the pantry items needed – guys SO many overlap. I also listed what fresh ingredients are in the recipe, but so often they can be substituted or omitted, sos get creative. You might end up making something new and delicious that your family loves.

Other ingredients: cheese(hard, aged cheese lasts for months), cauliflower – can sub frozen florets
21 Day Fix Pumpkin Pasta with Spicy Sausage (Gluten Free | Instant Pot Option)
Pantry ingredients: pasta, canned pumpkin, canned coconut milk, broth, olive oil
Other ingredients: Italian poultry sausage, parmesan cheese (buy on the block and it will last months!), onions, garlic, butter (can sub olive oil)

Instant Pot Butternut Squash Risotto [Gluten-free | 21 DF | WW]

Other ingredients: butternut squash (can sub frozen), shallots, garlic, butter (sub olive oil), parmesan cheese (buy on the block and it will last a long time)
21 Day Fix Quinoa Taco Casserole (Crock Pot or Instant Pot)
Pantry ingredients: quinoa, black beans, corn, diced tomatoes with green chilis, spices, salt and pepper, broth
Other Ingredients: ground meat (can omit!), garlic, bell pepper (can use frozen), red onion, cheese (optional, but hard, aged cheddar lasts for months)

Olive oil and avocado oil are more heart healthy, and in most of the recipes will work as a swap. Coconut milk can be swapped for whatever milk you have on hand, it just may not be quite as creamy as if you used coconut milk. Thanks for the question!

Here’s the enchilada sauce from the zucchini enchilada skillet:
1 small can of tomato sauce (8oz)
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons chili powder, or more to taste
Add all the spices to the tomato sauce, mix well, and enjoy!
